Different Ways to Vote

In Georgia, any registered voter may apply for an absentee ballot. After the Elections Office has verified your application, an absentee ballot will be mailed to your address. Submit the filled-out ballot by mail, drop it off at early voting locations that have dropboxes (this includes the Smyrna Community Center), or hand deliver it to the Cobb County Board of Elections and Registration Office. Absentee ballots must be received by 7 p.m. on Election Day.

You can apply for an absentee ballot online here. You must have a valid Georgia Driver’s License to apply online.

If you have requested an absentee ballot but decide to vote in person, you must cancel your Absentee ballot by submitting an affidavit available online.

You can vote in person on Election Day from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. at your assigned polling place. To find your Election Day polling place, please go to the Georgia My Voter Page and sign in. If you are in line by 7 p.m., you will still be allowed to vote.

If you’re voting in person early or on Election Day, you will need a valid photo ID such as a driver’s license, passport, or voter identification card.

The polls offer audio ballots for voters who have visual impairments and booths for voters who use wheelchairs. If you need help with your ballot, ask a family member or friend to accompany you to the polls.

If you believe you’re properly registered to vote in Cobb County but are told that your voting eligibility cannot be verified when you arrive to vote in person, ask for a provisional ballot. If you submit a provisional ballot, you must return to the Cobb County Elections office to verify your eligibility within the next 3 days after Election Day.

Please note that if you go to the wrong precinct on Election Day and cast a provisional ballot before 5 p.m., your vote will NOT count, due to new election laws passed in Georgia. If it is before 5 p.m. and you are being told you are not on the voter list, please confirm you are at the right precinct by going to the Georgia My Voter Page. If you are in your correct precinct, you should be able to vote or cast a provisional ballot.

Registered voters in Georgia can vote in person before Election Day. Georgia law requires 3 weeks of early voting, including two Saturdays. Early voting begins Tuesday, October, 15, and ends Friday, November 1.

NOTE: This location is NOT open for Sunday voting. The nearest polling place for Sunday voting is the Cobb Elections & Registration Office at 995 Roswell St, Marietta, GA.
